Product Release Announcement – All-Access 1.5

Announcement in Brief
The latest release of Embarcadero All-Access is a point release for incorporating our latest products into the All-Access client  (RAD Studio 2010, DBArtisan 8.7, and ER/Studio 8.5), new platform support (DB2 for z/OS), and a number of ease-of-management features, including group licensing restrictions. This release includes a terminology change; we will start to transition to the All-Access Server referred to as the ToolCloud, and the All-Access Client as the ToolBox.
Additionally, ToolCloud (server) trials will now be available to prospective qualified customers. The new ToolCloud trial process will be outlined in the sales training and includes sales qualification and SC follow-up, as these are high-value opportunities that merit a high level of touch. No press releases or media alerts will be done, however existing customers will be notified with an eDM in the next week and ongoing contributed articles will be placed as possible. The product page on the website and banner have been updated to focus on end-user benefits and to introduce the new names.

What’s New in All-Access 1.5

  • New Terms: We are beginning to introduce the new names of The All-Access Client and Server now as the Embarcadero ToolBox and Embarcadero ToolCloud respectively. You’ll start to see these terms on the external facing materials such as the website and datasheet with full transition with the All-Access 2.0 launch in early 2010.
  • Embarcadero ToolCloud trials. Potential customers can now request a free 30-day trial of the ToolCloud. From the website, they fill out a form and the request creates an Onyx incident for the sales person. (New trial process will be detailed in upcoming Phase 2 sales training)
  • The latest tools and platforms, always one click away. All-Access membership benefits include always having the latest release. All-Access 1.5 includes updates to the ToolBox & ToolCloud, to include the latest Embarcadero products: Delphi 2010, C++ Builder 2010, Delphi Prism 2010, DBArtisan 8.7, ER/Studio 8.5,Interbase R3, and Change Manager 5.1.1. 
  • New, powerful UML Modeling tool. ER/Studio Software Architect for standalone UML modeling is now part of All-Access.
  • Group management. Assign license permissions by group for streamlined license management.
  • DB2 for z/OS support available as an additional platform, including support in DBArtisan 8.7. 
  • Schema Examiner is no longer part of All-Access.  Current Platinum customers will retain the right to use the product.  In the short run we will honor Schema Examiner for any deals in motion, for customers who were expecting it.

  • On-demand: Access tools as you need them, from your ToolCloud, from Embarcadero’s ToolCloud, or as always: from your local desktop
  • Databases supported: Oracle, IBM® DB2, Sybase®, Microsoft® SQL Server, InterBase® SMP, Firebird, MySQL®
  • Languages & Frameworks: C++, Delphi®, Delphi Prism, Java™, PHP, Ruby™, ANSI SQL, Procedural SQL, UML®, HTML, XML, BPMN, Data Lineage, ERD
  • Three licensing options: Workstation, Network Named, and Network Concurrent. Network licensing supports integration with LDAP.
  • Management and Reporting: Embarcadero ToolCloud provides user management, role-based access grouping and reporting and usage tracking to facilitate compliance.
